New READJUST simulation platform supports evidence-based policymaking

How can we better understand the potential impact of policies before they are implemented? The READJUST TIPS – Twin-transitions Integrated Policy Simulator, developed by project partner Amsterdam Business School, provides an interactive way to explore this question.

Building on the findings of Deliverable D1.3 – Factors driving inequalities in the twin transition and mapping equality enablers, the platform allows users to test and compare policy scenarios, exploring how different policy choices, regional characteristics and institutional capacity can shape the outcomes of Europe's green and digital transitions. By making these interactions visible, it supports more informed and evidence-based policymaking.

With the READJUST TIPS platform, users can:

  • Compare different policy scenarios and transition strategies
  • Explore the effects of carbon pricing, subsidies and reskilling measures
  • Compare outcomes for employment, income inequality, emissions and regional disparities
  • Understand how institutional capacity shapes policy outcomes

Designed for policymakers, researchers, and anyone interested in twin transition policies, the simulator is built for comparing scenarios rather than forecasting. It shows how outcomes differ between policy designs and institutional settings and does not produce predictions for individual countries or regions. The READJUST TIPS platform, together with its documentation, calibrated parameters and open-source code, is openly available to encourage transparency, reproducibility and further research.
