First Agri-Food Workshop in Poland Explores a Fair Transition for Agriculture

On 31 March 2026, READJUST partner EIT Food organised the project’s first agri-food co-creation workshop in Rzeszów, Poland, bringing together 36 participants from across the agricultural sector. The workshop created space for an open exchange on what a fair and realistic transition to more sustainable agriculture should look like in practice. Farmers, breeders, and beekeepers joined experts, business representatives, and EIT Food team members to share their perspectives, experiences, and concerns about the future of the sector.

Discussions during the workshop touched on decarbonisation, water management, innovation, and the future of agricultural policy, and highlighted the value of bringing diverse agricultural voices into the conversation. Participants’ feedback echoed this, showing strong interest in follow-up meetings and deeper discussion of the issues raised. Overall, the workshop provided an important opportunity to ground READJUST’s work in practical experience from across the sector.

The workshop is part of the READJUST agri-food case study, focusing on the production side of the food system, particularly the transition to regenerative agriculture and the role that technology and education can play in supporting it. As this transformation does not affect everyone in the same way, READJUST is working to better understand where inequalities can emerge and how the transition can be made more fair, inclusive, and practical. The workshop also marked the start of a broader co-design process. Together with farmers and policymakers, READJUST will work towards a prototype national and regional implementation pathway, with a strong focus on fairness, feasibility, and real farming conditions.
